Horse Deaths at Santa Anita and Pimlico: Same Day, Same Track Owner

A filly died after a race on Friday at Pimlico, the site of Saturday’s Preakness Stakes. The fatality at Santa Anita, the 24th at the track since Dec. 26, occurred after a gelding broke down during training.
